My Paintings: Portraits

The picture above demonstrates how a painting should be matted and framed.

All of my portrait paintings are rendered in Rembrandt pastels.  They are a cylindrical stick, much like chalk, which leave a chalky like pigment on the paper when I stroke the stick.  I paint my pictures in a standard format. What that means is that the paper is either 18"x24(standard size), or 19.5"x25.5".  How that helps the customer is he/she can take the drawing, and have it framed to the next standard size, which would be 22"x28"  Standard sizes are 8"x10", 11"x14", 16"x20", 18"x24, 22"x28". These are the size frames you can find in most craft stores already cut, and built.  This is a much more economical than custome framing. I have even gone as far as canvas thrift stores for used frames. Even if I don't like the frame, most times the glass is intact and I can still off set some expense.

My Drawings:  Houses

The architectural drawings are smaller in scale, usually 11"x14".  The beauty about those is that you can skip the mat, because the medium is dry and will not smudge.  The drawings are typically done on watercolor paper, which provides the ability to apply a water color to the drawing, if color is prefered.

The Process

So here is how the process works. Simply e mail the photos you are considering for painting.  I would prefer several, so that I can gauge color, and composition.  Once we determine which photo(s) to use your order wil be placed into the order recieved. If this is a special occassion, please specify this in the beginning of the process.  At that time I will need a deposit, usually half of the cost. When I am finished I will send you a digital image of your painting for your approval. From there we will establish final payment, and shipping. Typical turn around time is 6-8 weeks, depending on demand.

The Pricing

Portraits are $100 for the first subject, $25 each additional subject. Pricing will vary based on head, 3/4 and full figure portraits.  Additional cost consideration will be vary depending on clothing and background detail.

Architectural renderings will range from $100 to $175 depending on size and detail of the subject.
